For those of you who didn't go on the Spring Break trip, first, I hope you had a wonderful time with your family, but if you didn't go anywhere, do anything, and just missed out...you missed out on a great great time. For those of you that have doubts about the fun that could possibly be had with 40 of your greatest friends, I am here to tell you it was so much fun. We spent 6 days and 5 nights in the Great Smoky Mountains. We hiked, rode roller coasters, watched scary movies in our very own movie theater, snow tubed, made homemade pizzas and so much more. If the cadets that went weren't friends before they went well, they are friends now. You really should consider going next year. It's a blast.

For those that stayed home and attended the St. Patrick's Day parade....THANK YOU! The new chief was so impressed with the turnout. Imagine his surprise when he learned that was only half of us. You represented our cadet program with so much professionalism and pride. We are very proud of the group we have now. You all just get better every year.

Now here we are coming up to the end of a great year. We aren't over though. We still have a competition in North Carolina on April 28th. After that we will be doing sign ups for next year's competition team. Give it a try. You'd be surprised how much fun it is. It's a lot of hard work though so be prepared to train, train, train. Family night will be coming up sometime in May. We will most likely do a Thursday night again since graduations and end of the year activities often get in the way.

Most importantly, promotions are coming up. A date will be released soon in April or May for those that want to be officers to apply and interview. If you are interested and haven't gotten a copy of the qualifications please let one of your advisors know. Every spot is up for grabs. We are growing so we need to make sure that every officer is up to the challenge of keeping their company and battalion in order.

As always, thank you for what you all do all year long. Until next time...

So it's New Year's Eve and I don't know what big plans you all have but mine will include calming farm animals who hate fireworks. It's become a bit of a ritual. I'm sure they are looking forward to it as much as I am.

First, please be safe, cadets and parents alike! We want everyone here celebrating 2019 with us. I'm not one for resolutions but I can tell you we are going to strive to be more organized this year. I say "strive" because really, that is all we can do.

Please check out this website periodically. We are going to keep it updated with all the information you will need. We are starting competition season so parents and cadets who are on the competition team...keep track. We have a competition this coming weekend, another in February, another in April and then August and October. It's a busy time. The one in February is the big one. It's in Kissimmee this year so if you are looking for a fun getaway for the weekend... join us.

The most important thing that every cadet needs to do is to get their release forms turned in. These forms are necessary for every cadet to partake in training activities here on headquarters training grounds. If we do not get a form from you you will not be able to train on Thursday nights. It's no fun just watching. These forms can be scanned and emailed to cadetadvisor@pbcgov.org or at the very least text a picture of them to Laurie.

Happy New Year! 2019 is going to be great!!

So, I'm sorry that we had to cancel the holiday party last night but that storm was pretty nasty. I was a little nervous with the sun shining until about 3 but when that storm rolled in I knew we had made the right decision. We are now on a break until January 10th. We will invite both battalions back that night and have a great New Year's celebration. In the meantime, please get your forms filled out. They are on this site under Resources. They are the 2 observer forms. If you can scan them and send them to cadetadvisor@pbcgov.org that would be great. The goal is to have them all in by the 1st. We have a competition in Clermont on January 5th. Competitions are a lot of fun even if you aren't competing. If you'd like to come and cheer your teams on we would welcome you. We set up tents and chairs and have a great time. If you need further information please let me know. I would like to wish each and every one of you a wonderful holiday season. We will see you in 2019!
